HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME, by Lydia Barron

On the eleventh of April two thousand and eight,
I was ready to come out and didn’t want to be late!
I kept hearing Mommy say, “Lydia I think it’s time,”
And I’m glad that I did because this year has been sublime!
Jesus has blessed me with such a great family,
Have you seen my Daddy be silly and dance for me?
At first it was hard because I was hungry day and night,
Mommy wasn’t sleeping and Daddy seemed uptight.
Early on I found out that crying helped get results,
Who knew it would be this easy to train these adults!
It was crazy how they celebrated each little thing,
I would smile or sit up and great joy this would bring!
The best part has been those who say that they love me,
Like my parents and Grammy, Poppy, Opa, and Omi!
I have Aunts and Uncles and a cousin named Liam,
Now another cousin’s coming – I can’t wait to meet him!
This year has been fun and there’s much more to say,
