Here's a mobile upload of Lydia in her new big girl carseat (Cowmooflauge). She loves facing forward now, and she has a lot more leg room! Upgrades are good, aren't they Lydia?
Don't you just love it when kids sleep this way, with their booty all up in the air?
Today it rained. It rained cats and dogs and elephants, I think. Lydia and I were at Super Target and I thought I had timed it just right for grabbing what we wanted before heading home for her snack and nap. Then came the torrential downpour. So we perused the store awhile longer... awhile longer.. awhile longer... Lydia was so restless, bless her heart. She rarely melts down, and today was no exception - she did pretty well considering she was tired of shopping (this was our 3rd stop) and very ready for her nap. The cardboard pricetag on one item kept her busy for awhile, then I tried the little toy we had with us, but she plays that game now where you throw it on the floor and ask Mommy to pick it up again (over and over) so that was out after awhile. She wanted to stand so badly so I let her stand where her bottom is supposed to be in the cart and just strolled her around and around while of course I held her hands for balance... She liked that. Then we reached the point where I had to hold her and continue to stroll the cart, switching back and forth between my already tired arms from kickboxing class this morning... Finally we checked out at the register. Still pouring very hard outside. So, we sat down at the Starbucks in the store. I put her socks on and let her cruise around a little, but she was so tired and just wanted to sit (which was gross on a public floor) so I had her in my lap, which she wasn't up for - she wanted freedom. So...finally...an hour past her normal nap time... WE MADE A RUN FOR IT! I covered her head with her cart cover and didn't fret about the contents of our cart getting wet. I managed to run through about 10 giant puddles on my way to the car and nearly broke my neck because I was wearing slippery flip flips... but we made it home. O boy. That was fun.
We also have a great story for you about Lydia getting car sick last week... Oh boy. Let me just say, I had dairy vomit in my hair, in my purse, down my shirt... And she was all smiles like "What? I'm so cute, right Mommy?" More on that another time maybe... Just glad she's okay. But we had to reschedule the special birthday dinner we were headed to for Lydia's Omi.
Oliver has been home with Lydia a few times lately. It never fails, she finds herself in flashcard school. She loves it though. When I run through them with her she's less interested. It's all about Daddy.

We have some great videos we'd like to share, but they take awhile to upload and it will need to wait til next time. Love, O, N and L
