Wow, those fingernails are vicious! I feel so badly everytime I greet her in the morning and see a new scratch on her face or head. She gets all crazy in her crib and her little hands and feet flail all about and inevitably she scratches herself in the process. It never seems to bother her and the scratches are surface enough that they heal quickly. Obviously we will clip her nails. Also in ailment news... Our little girl seems to have what the textbooks call an Umbilical Hernia. Yikes! Sounds worse than it is, though. Basically we've noticed that her belly button protrudes out anytime she's engaging her abs, be it to scream or stretch or cry. It's looks a bit like there's a large marble under there and it's a little blue-ish. Again, it sounds so much worse than it is... It's pretty common and has to do with her intestines being immature (as with all newborns) and something or another... Anyway, there's usually no treatment required and it takes care of itself. We visit the Pediatrician this Friday anyway for her 2 month check up and vaccinations so he'll take a look. And yes, I said vaccinations! So sad. I think she receives 3 this time. I'll bring kleenex for Mom and Dad! Poor baby.

Luke had an umbilical hernia as well! It went away in about three months but we thought it was hilarious!!
