Lydia LOVES the Disney movie The Princess and the Frog, so it was only fitting that she dress up as Princess Tiana for her school's Storybook Parade last week. So cute!
Of course, Molly needed to dress up, too, even if she doesn't go to school yet like her big sister does... What a sweet little flower she is!
This year was Lydia's first time to go trick or treating, and she LOVED it! She looked like she was a professional trick or treater, who knew exactly what to do. We made a couple of rounds back to the house, and then she would want to go again. All in all I think she went trick or treating 3 times that night. All 4 of of her grandparents came over to witness her cuteness and to have dinner and help pass out candy.
When I was little, we had a lot of fun celebrating Halloween. My parents dressed up too, and decorated the house. When I got a little older, we were much more committed to our christian faith, and decided we wouldn't celebrate Halloween anymore. Now, as an adult with children, I have such fond, sweet memories of Halloween as a kid and I want Lydia and Molly to have some of that fun, too. So, while I was a little conflicted about it, we had SO much fun taking Lydia out this year. I do regret, however, that I exposed her to some pretty gruesome stuff that night. Sure, some of it is just plain cute, but there were a couple of houses that I regret taking her to! One house, for example, had fake blood on the sidewalk and dead people on the lawn. At another house, when they opened the door, they had their young teenage daughter in a noose looking as though she was hanging from the ceiling, totally dead. What were they thinking?? I would never "fake hang" my daughter! Meanwhile her father had those creepy contact lenses that make it look as though your eyes are evil. I wish that house had a warning label on it for the youngest trick or treaters. Why can't it all just be CUTE and not evil?? Our neighborhood definitely goes all out. There were people driving by on golf carts with giant wagons of candy trailing behind them. That was pretty cool! By the way, Molly missed the whole thing because she needed a nap all of a sudden at about 6 pm. Sorry Molly, maybe next year!

Eww. I don't like all that creepy stuff either. Some people do too much.
The girls look adorable and glad they had fun!
