We went to Grammy and Poppy's house today for an early Memorial Day celebration, and Lydia got to go swimming! I don't know if she remembers swimming here last year or not, but either way, she loved it!

Aren't little girls in bathing suits just one of the cutest sights in the world?

It's amazing how fearless little ones are. Lydia kept squirming to get away from us in the water, because at this point she doesn't have any idea that she would drown without us! She loved bouncing in the water, kicking, and especially loved it when Daddy would throw her way up high in the air! I'm bummed we didn't get that on video! We didn't get many pictures or video of her playing in the water, because we were in the water with her. Grammy, Poppy and Liam were swimming with us too! It was a fun time.

Today was a fun day! Lydia played outside in her giraffe pool again this morning, and had a great time. Later, following a good 3 hour nap, she went to Joshua Bratcher's 1st birthday party! Joshua and his brother Noah have lots of fun toys, and the coolest backyard, so there was a lot of fun to be had!

Joshua's parents (Julie and Ryan) designated one of the balloons to be especially for Lydia, and she loved carrying it around! It was filled with helium, so she had to hang on tight!

They had a bounce house!!! Lydia has never been in a bounce house before, so this was a new experience! She wasn't quite sure what to do at first. We were proud of her because she wasn't scared or anxious. She was interested to see what this was all about!

They also have a little trampoline, which Lydia really liked.

We had a great time. Thanks for turning 1 and having a fun party, Josh!

I took a vacation day from work on Wednesday and had a sweet time with my little sweetie all day long! I decided to inflate her infant swimming pool and take her outside for some water fun. She enjoyed it! (no shirt necessary, because we were in the shade. Ah, the joy of being a carefree kid who can run around half naked without a care in the world!)

Ready for some summer fun with my new sunglasses that Grammy bought for me!
Wait - I like Mommy's sunglasses better. "Gimme!"

Ok, for those of you that know Lydia very well, the first 4 seconds of this video IS A VERY BIG DEAL!

One of Lydia's favorite items in the house is.....

This video speaks for itself.

I forgot that I took a second batch of pictures last Saturday on another memory card. Here's a peek.

Happy weekend, everybody! I'm enjoying mine. I got to play outside with Mommy and Daddy yesterday morning (with bubbles!! I love bubbles!). I didn't want to let go of my purple ball for a while, but later I just couldn't stand it - I had to chase those bubbles! (They always disappear when I catch them... I haven't quite figured out why yet.)

That evening we went out to dinner with Opa and Omi. It was fun and I was a perfect angel the ENTIRE time!! Really, really...I was!
Today Mommy and I went grocery shopping, and I got to learn about all of the stuff in the produce section! I held a sweet potato, an onion (didn't like that one - weird texture!), a carrot (loved that one), a lemon and a lime, a grapefruit, and all kinds of other things I don't see very often. It was fun! I didn't want to let go of any of my "stash" of sample items, but Mommy said we had to put everything back - except for one little green apple that she bought for me! (because I wouldn't give it up - I think she didn't have a choice, maybe.)

I do smile, a lot! But seriously, my mommy and daddy take thousands of pictures of me every day!! - for two plus years they've been taking pictures - that's like a lot of pictures. My cousin Warner isn't even one, so he smiles at the drop of a hat!

No - we're not an old married couple! Its me and my cousin, Warner!

Super happy on a Sunday afternoon!

Below she's trying to catch the little dust specs that she can see in the air through the bright sunlight coming through the window. (Yes, we have some dust at our house!)

Lydia likes to drink from Daddy's water glass!
